Trail Description: Mostly sandy well maintained, most of the time, wide trails. Dirt w/log retaining walls bridges in several places on the south set of trails, across from the Air Force Landing strip. Ups and down, some twisty and turning on angles, neat. Very few rocks, mostly sandy or clay. Slippery when wet on the clay. Campground with only a few hookups, no bathhouse but a decent potty. No pens so picket, tie or highline from trees (use tree savers). Pretty view of the lake, many overlooks (use caution and don't get too close to edge-these are marked) Two sets of trails to go on there. If you go north over the bridge, past the store and general camping, up the hill and over the earth dike to second general camping and just past that entrance is parking for more trails on that side of the lake. These trails aren't as challenging but pretty nice anyway. Cross the paved road only at the walk-thru gates for safety. Water available in campground, not in horse parking area, bathrooms and showers up the hill from parking. $2-3 fee per horse-rider on trails, camping fees-see campground attendant at general camping area, we weren't approached for payment, self pay on trails anyway, so paid $10 even tho we used generator and not limited plugins or water. Not a really safe feeling place during hunting seasons-Oct. thru Jan. check with ranger, but nice in between and can ride in winter as trees block our notorious Oklahoma winds. Not a lot of miles but enough if you are not a speed demon you can stay over nite and ride some one day and others next. Fishing at river below dam and above dam in lake, some groceries at little store, best to bring your own mostly.

Mostly dry camp but water available at faucets located all around, some sites with water and electricity, no sewer but dump station available at general camping area. Plenty of shade trees and can high line if you tie away from tree roots. Portable pens can be used and one public potty at one site, potties and shower at other.
